About the Musicians' Unions Pension Scheme
In 1999, Hencilla were contacted by the Union to design a new pension scheme for Members, driving factors behind this being the introduction of Stakeholder Pensions and the closure to new business by the previous pension provider.
With our proven track of designing and administering pensions for creatives, such as the associated Equity Pension Scheme, we were ideally placed to accept this request and the new MUPS was launched in December 2000.
Also, with its status as a Qualifying Workplace Pension Scheme, it is the ONLY pension scheme that the participating Production Companies will contribute to using the rates detailed in the relative MU Agreements.
